Cal Cities seeking proposals for the City Leaders Summit

Dec 14, 2022

The League of California Cities is seeking proposals for its second-ever City Leaders Summit. Taking place April 12-14 in Sacramento, the City Leaders Summit is a unique advocacy and education event allows city officials to influence state policy decisions and gain top-notch leadership skills.

During the event, city leaders will spend a full day meeting with legislators to discuss the most pertinent issues affecting their cities and then attend two days of in-depth educational sessions to explore local solutions to statewide problems.

Cal Cities is looking for thorough, thoughtful, and complete proposals that tell how your session can help elected city officials improve their communities, leadership abilities, and policy knowledge. Submissions from any individual, group, business, or organization on any topic are welcome.

The Summit offers panel discussions, speed sessions, facilitated discussions, and opportunities for keynote speakers. Sessions may not include sales, commercialism, or product promotion of any kind. Proposals must be submitted online through the session proposal form by Thursday, Jan. 19.

Topics to consider include:

  • Emerging issues and cutting-edge solutions for the top challenges facing cities.
  • Leadership skills, relationship management, and personal development.
  • City finances.
  • Affordable housing.
  • Homelessness.
  • Emergency response and preparedness.
  • Technology.
  • Diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Workplace culture.
  • Pandemic-related changes.
