Learn about key issues affecting cities in tomorrow’s 2021 bill introduction webinar

Mar 17, 2021

There are 2,497 reasons city officials should sign up for the 2021 Legislative Briefing: Bill Introduction webinar on March 18, 1-3 p.m.

That’s how many bills were introduced this legislative session. Join the Cal Cities legislative team for a briefing on the critical issues facing cities in the 2021 legislative session. Lobbyists will provide detailed information on key bills pending in the Legislature, including measures pertaining to:
  • COVID-19 response and recovery
  • Local land use authority and affordable housing
  • Homelessness issues and funding opportunities
  • Disaster response funding and policy
  • Public safety, cannabis, and police reforms
  • Budget proposals
  • Other issues of importance to cities
Our Cal Cities team is currently going through all the bills introduced to identify which bills impact cities, local control, and our 2021 Strategic Advocacy Priorities, including securing state and federal funding for local COVID-19 public health response and economic recovery for all; securing funding to increase the supply and affordability of housing and resources to assist individuals at risk of – or already experiencing – homelessness while preserving local decision-making; improving state-local coordination and planning to strengthen community disaster preparedness, resiliency, and recovery, and protecting and modernizing critical infrastructure.

Speakers include: Cal Cities Deputy Executive Director, Advocacy and Public Affairs Melanie Perron; Assistant Legislative Director Jason Rhine; Legislative Representatives Elisa Arcidiacono, Derek Dolfie, Bijan Mehryar, and Nick Romo; and Policy Analysts Caroline Cirrincione and Johnnie Piña.
