Prop. 4: The November Climate Bond

This webinar took place on October 8, 2024.

Get a walkthrough of the eight funding chapters in the Safe Drinking Water, Wildfire Prevention, Drought Preparedness, and Clean Air Bond Act of 2024. The $10 billion climate bond would help cities comprehensively address the varied climate impacts and challenges facing California’s current and future residents. The ballot initiative aims to help communities avoid and recover from the impacts of wildfire, flood, drought, extreme heat, or other climate-related events, as well as to help restore and protect natural systems experiencing such impacts. Your city could be eligible for many of the programs if Proposition 4 passes on the November 2024 ballot.

This event is part of a series of webinars and discussions hosted by Cal Cities to support cities financing climate resiliency programs for their communities. The series will highlight ways cities can use different funding mechanisms and leverage various funding programs to support local climate strategies and initiatives. As part of Cal Cities’ advocacy priority to promote climate resiliency and disaster preparedness, we encourage all cities to be climate-forward.
