Help steer Cal Cities coastal zone policy by leading the Coastal Cities Group

Jul 20, 2022

The League of California Cities is accepting applications for the Coastal Cities Group Leadership Committee through Friday, Aug. 12, 2022. Composed of the 61 cities located within the coastal zone, the Coastal Cities Group collaborates on sea level rise mitigation efforts, land use regulations, and other coastal issues.

The leadership committee consists of one elected official and their respective city manager or staff designee from each of the six regions within the coastal zone. The committee helps facilitate the group’s operations and plays a key role in its activities, including building and maintaining relationships with California Coastal Commissioners and staff. The chair and vice chair positions are drawn from the leadership committee.

Applicants will be reviewed on their leadership skills, policy awareness, expertise on coastal issues, and experience within Cal Cities. Applications must be submitted online.

The Coastal Cities Group works to foster a more collaborative relationship between cities and the California Coastal Commission. It also serves as a conduit for related information and works closely with Cal Cities’ policy committees and board of directors.
