Help Cal Cities provide equity-related resources and training by sharing your experiences
By Meghan McKelvey, senior member services manager
The survey closes Oct. 30
The Cal Cities’ Advancing Equity Advisory Committee is surveying city officials to better understand how cities across California are serving diverse communities, what approaches are working, and where additional support may be helpful.
The goal is to give Cal Cities a clearer picture of the work already happening in cities and identify where shared resources, examples, training, or technical assistance could be most useful.
The survey will help Cal Cities:
- Establish a baseline understanding of equity-related efforts across cities.
- Identify successful programs, tools, and approaches that may be helpful to other cities.
- Better understand common challenges, gaps, and resource needs.
- Inform the development of practical resources and technical assistance for cities.
Equity-related efforts may include programs, services, policies, or outreach designed to better serve specific community groups, such as seniors, youth, veterans, non-English speakers, small businesses, or other underserved or underrepresented populations.
Wherever your city is in this work, your perspective is valuable. Please respond based on your own experience and knowledge. Individual responses will be kept confidential and reported only in aggregate. If you are unsure of an answer, you may skip the question. Multiple representatives from the same city are encouraged to participate.
The survey should take 15-20 minutes to complete.
