Help pave the way for others

Submissions from individuals, groups, businesses, and organizations on any topic relevant to public works are welcome. Cal Cities encourages session proposals that are creative and modern in their programming and format. Previous sessions include:

  • Upping Your Communications Game
  • Women in Public Works
  • Public Works Visibility as First Responders
  • Strategic Funding and Grant Writing for Public Works
  • Claiming Compliance Credit for Stormwater Management Strategies

Sessions may not include sales pitches, commercialism, or product promotion of any kind. The deadline to submit a proposal is Friday, Oct. 2.

Member-driven and member-led programming is a cornerstone of Cal Cities’ educational activities. Over 95% of all programming comes directly from Cal Cities’ open calls for proposals!

How to submit

Learn how to create an excellent proposal by reviewing the Call for Proposals section on the Public Works Officers Institute webpage. When you have your idea (or ideas!) ready, submit your proposal online. If accepted, you’ll present your session at the 2027 institute at the Hyatt Regency in Garden Grove.
