Cal Cities supports our cities impacted by the Southern California wildfires
A message from League of California Cities Executive Director and CEO Carolyn Coleman
Good afternoon, city officials,
It is sad and horrifying to see the wildfires and their devastation in our communities in the Los Angeles County area and neighboring jurisdictions. Thank you to the firefighting personnel and first responders from across the state who are working tirelessly to contain the spread of the wildfires and the city officials who are coordinating these heroic emergency response efforts.
As we pray for the safety of all, I want you to know that Cal Cities is also here to support the city managers and other city staff who are on the front line working vigorously to manage the response.
Cal Cities has come together many times before to help city managers support each other during times like these and will do so again by coordinating a network of city managers and assistant city managers to be on call to help cities in the affected areas.
In addition, Cal Cities has reached out to Cal OES to find out about any additional resources that may be helpful to the response efforts and will be sharing any information or updates with cities through your city managers.
Our hearts are with the cities and residents of LA County and their neighbors. Please stay safe.
