African American Caucus board applications due Oct. 11

Oct 2, 2024

By Cal Cities Staff

The Cal Cities African American Caucus is accepting applications for its 2024-25 Board of Directors through Friday, Oct. 11. The caucus will elect officers at the Cal Cities Annual Conference and Expo, Oct. 16-18, in Long Beach.

The African American Caucus represents the interests of African American city officials and the greater African American community within Cal Cities, the National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials, and related national organizations. It does this by:

  • Identifying issues of concern to the African American community.
  • Vocalizing those issues through sponsorship of educational seminars, visible position-taking, and heightened, concerted involvement in Cal Cities.

Board member terms begin at the conclusion of the annual conference and end Oct. 10, 2025. Any elected city official from a Cal Cities member city can apply.

Interested in joining the caucus but can’t serve in a leadership position? Stop by the Cal Cities Pavilion on the Expo floor at the annual conference to learn how to get involved and make a difference.
