Full City Clerks New Law and Elections Seminar schedule available

Oct 11, 2023

If past years are any guide, the 2024 election cycle will test the mental strength and tenacity of city clerks throughout California. The City Clerks New Law and Elections Seminar — Dec. 13-15 — is here to help.

Headlining this year’s seminar is keynote speaker Michael Wigge. An adventurer, coach, and award-winning speaker, Wigge will draw on his adventures to help city clerks navigate obstacles with resilience and strength. Wigge’s work has been featured on “The Today Show,” “The Tonight Show,” and top media outlets. His adventures were once documented through the PBS show, “How to Travel the World for FREE.”

The seminar helps city clerks of all tenures respond to emerging challenges and conduct routine business. The 2023 seminar will cover a range of topics, including the Brown Act, council member onboarding, new election laws, and how to respond to internal election interference. There will also be beginner- and advanced-level sessions on the Political Reform Act and city clerks’ roles as election officials.
