Celebrate the League’s 120th Anniversary at the 2018 Annual Conference & Expo

As a respected association with a long and rich history of collaborating with California cities, this milestone energizes the League’s work, reflecting on past successes and looking forward to new opportunities that will serve member cities. The anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate generations of California city leaders empowering and innovating communities yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Visit the League’s 120th Anniversary Plaza for Trivia, Gifts and Prizes
This year’s Expo will feature the League of California Cities 120th Anniversary Plaza, in booth 1365, with an exciting new game and attendee giveaways.
Test your California and League knowledge by playing the League’s trivia game. Players with the top scores will win individual prizes and bragging rights. In addition, each player will enter his or her city into the grand prize drawing — a $3,000 voucher giveaway that may be used for products or services from any one of the suppliers exhibiting in the U.S. Communities Zone.
The trivia game kicks off at the grand opening of the Expo Hall & Host City Reception on Wednesday and will be happening through the close of the Expo on Thursday. Winners will be announced at the closing luncheon and General Assembly on Friday, Sept. 14, 12:30–2:30 p.m.
You will also find the League 120th Anniversary beach towel and bag at the Anniversary Plaza. Each attendee will receive one set by redeeming the ticket located in their badge holder.
Expo Hall and Host City Reception
The fun in the Expo Hall will kick off Wednesday at 5 p.m. when the City of Long Beach will welcome attendees with the opening night host reception and a selection of hors d’oeuvres. Join other conference attendees and meet exhibitors while enjoying the hospitality of the city.
Activities will continue in the Expo on Thursday from 9 a.m.–4 p.m., including a special attendee luncheon following the morning General Session.
Speaker Theater
The speaker theater sessions — also on the Expo floor — will highlight successful examples of public/private partnerships. Attend these special talks to learn about case studies of innovative projects and programs that have worked in California cities. Hear from industry experts that have found creative solutions to some of the challenging problems that cities face.
