California Earned Income Tax Credit Education and Outreach Grants
Aug 18, 2016
The purpose of this NOFA is to support Cal EITC education and outreach activities and increase awareness of the credit and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program among low-income individuals and families. The department seeks to engage established organizations that maintain an existing community presence and trusted relationships; have demonstrated extensive experience conducting similar outreach campaigns; and regularly engage culturally-diverse hard-to-reach populations.
Cities may be interested in these grants to help make sure low-income families get access to federal funds to improve their living situations, and in return funds will mostly be locally spent on goods and services, providing additional economic benefit for the community.
Potential applicants are strongly encouraged to participate in a Bidders Conference regarding the grant application. CSD will review the NOFA requirements and take questions. Questions and answers will be posted to the CSD website by Aug. 30. CSD encourages all potential applicants to send NOFA questions through email to CSBGDIV@csd.ca.gov.
