Essential Hour: Your First Peace Officer Personnel Records Request — Pitchess and Beyond

Are you preparing for your first opposition to a Pitchess motion? Did someone send an email asking for a list of police employment records? Is one of your police officers demanding access to certain personnel records while under an internal affairs investigation?

In this Essential Hour webinar, learn how to navigate the procedural and substantive legal frameworks for peace officer personnel record requests, including Pitchess motion fundamentals and how they proceed in the courtroom, Public Records Act requests for peace officer personnel records, and the Public Safety Officers Procedural Bill of Rights. Fellow city attorneys will provide some tips, resources, and suggested best practices.

The League of California Cities is a State Bar of California minimum continuing legal education (MCLE) approved Multiple Activity Provider. This webinar will meet the standards for participatory MCLE credit for registered attendees in the amount of one hour.
