SB 54 Plastic Pollution Prevention and Packaging Producer Responsibility Act Roundtable

Join us as we discuss the Formal Draft Regulations that were released by CalRecycle for a 45-day formal public comment period for the implementation of SB 54 (Allen, Chapter 75, Statutes of 2022). This Cal Cities roundtable discussion will provide an opportunity for all Cal Cities members who work on, or have an interest in single-use packaging and plastic food ware recycling, to discuss the Draft Regulations and coordinate public comments.

Discussion Topics will include:

• The implications of the formal draft regulations
• The anticipated costs of implementing the draft regulations
• Anticipated challenges with the draft regulations
• Successful implementation efforts cities are already doing related to single-use packaging and plastic food ware recycling as well as reuse and refill efforts
