Registration is now open for the League of California Cities Annual Conference and Expo at the Long Beach Convention Center, Oct. 8-10! Last year, over 2,000 city officials attended the annual conference to find solutions for challenging issues, shape Cal Cities policy, and connect directly with city service providers.

Educational sessions

Cal Cities received over 300 educational session proposals for this year’s annual conference. These sessions were whittled down to the most important and engaging sessions through a member-driven review process. The more than 40 selected educational sessions will cover a range of topics — housing, natural disasters, disadvantaged communities, leadership, and more!

Policy and resolutions

Cal Cities members can propose and adopt new policies at the annual conference. The Resolutions Committee — comprised of representatives from each caucus, division, department, and policy committee, as well as individuals appointed by the Cal Cities President — will meet on Thursday during the conference to consider proposed resolutions.

Resolutions approved by a policy committee and/or the Resolutions Committee are next considered by the General Assembly on the last day of the conference. Each member city designates a city official as their city’s voting delegate at the General Assembly. If approved by the General Assembly, resolutions become Cal Cities policy.

The deadline to submit a general resolution for consideration is Saturday, Aug. 9. For more information on the resolution process and deadlines, refer to the Resolutions and General Assembly webpage. Cal Cities will send information on how to designate a city’s voting delegate directly to cities in July.

Registration and hotels

Up through July 24, registration for all three days starts at $675 for city officials from any member city. After July 24, full conference registration for city officials is $725. Full conference registration includes access to general and concurrent sessions, the expo, CitiPAC and diversity caucus receptions, Wednesday’s host city reception, and some meals.

A limited number of hotel rooms are available at reduced rates for registered attendees and exhibitors. After registering, attendees will receive a confirmation email with a link to the Cal Cities’ housing information page to book discounted rooms. Hotels often sell out before the Sept. 16 deadline, so reserve yours early!
