2022 City Managers Conference call for proposals now open

Jul 7, 2021

The League of California Cities is soliciting session proposals and speakers for the 2022 City Managers Conference, scheduled Feb. 2-4 in Monterey.

Geared toward California city managers and others in the profession, the three-day conference includes general sessions, concurrent sessions, and peer-to-peer connections. The call for proposals is an opportunity to share best practices, innovative approaches, as well as important research about new information with city managers and senior staff at their annual gathering.

A few priority topics that city managers are interested in hearing more about include:
  • Fiscal sustainability and economic recovery
  • Housing affordability and supply
  • Supporting individuals experiencing homelessness
  • Advancing equity
  • Local initiatives making a difference
  • Working with community groups and city councils
  • Pension sustainability
  • Infrastructure
  • Leadership during adversity
Cal Cities has modified its proposal form to accept proposals for different types of session formats, including those that feature interactivity instead of traditional lecture and panel presentation format.

Sessions may not include sales, commercialism or product promotion of any kind. Ideas need to be fully completed and  submitted through the online proposal form by Monday, Aug. 9 to be considered by the committee.

There is a limit to the amount of words allowed within the title and description of each proposal. We recommend you write your proposal in a word-processing program first and paste the final version into the online form.
