Yountville Neighbor Network Connects Volunteers with Residents in Need

May 5, 2020

The Town of Yountville Neighbors Helping Neighbors program started in 2019 as part of the town’s emergency preparedness effort following deadly wildfires in the area by encouraging connections with neighbors. The program evolved to meet the new needs that developed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Volunteers for the Yountville Neighbor Network help neighbors in need during the stay-at-home orders with errands, shop, assist with small outdoor chores, provide pet care, make check-in calls, or tend to other essential needs.

Town staff passed out door hangers around town notifying residents that vulnerable individuals, particularly seniors, could be matched with a volunteer who would provide help if they needed assistance.
