As California works to further reduce climate-changing emissions, the state now leads the nation in requirements for electricity from clean renewable solar, wind and geothermal sources. But as California transitions toward net-zero carbon emissions, there is fear that demand will outstrip capacity, leading to possible service interruptions. Join Cal Cities, energy providers, and fellow city officials on Dec. 12 at 2:00 p.m., to discuss how to better address community electrification needs. Discussion topics include:
- Coordinating with energy providers.
- Emerging threats to reliable and affordable capacity.
- Providing energy to support public fleet vehicles.
- Battery storage.
