Deadline approaching: Public Works Officers Institute session proposals due August 6

Jul 30, 2021

Ideas need to be fully completed and submitted through the online proposal form by Friday, August 6, to be considered by the committee.

The League of California Cities and the County Engineers Association of California (CEAC) is seeking session proposals and speakers for the next Public Works Officers Institute, a three-day event scheduled for March 23-25, 2022 in Monterey. Proposals are an opportunity for individuals to share best practices and innovative approaches, as well as research and information with public works directors from cities and counties throughout California. Session proposals must be submitted online by August 6.

Individuals may submit session proposals on topics of importance to public works professionals including but not limited to: current issues, stormwater, public-private partnerships, use of technology, leadership, succession planning, emergency response, pavement, and bridge topics.

Different, innovative session formats are highly encouraged! In addition to submitting a traditional-style panel presentation, session crafters are encouraged to get creative with their suggested session types. Sessions may not include sales, commercialism, or product promotion of any kind. Ideas need to be fully completed and submitted through the online proposal form by Friday, August 6, to be considered by the committee. Additional information is available on the 2022 Public Works Officers Institute event page.

Health and Safety

As we all know too well, the pandemic is not over. Our number one priority will continue to be the health and safety of participants. We are working closely with the convention center to ensure that important protocols and cleaning procedures continue, and if necessary, are strengthened. A special webpage outlining these procedures and other important health and safety information for attendees will be available in plenty of time to prepare for the conference.
