Save the Date for the 2021 Annual Conference and Expo in Sacramento!

May 26, 2021

The League of California Cities is thrilled to announce that the Annual Conference and Expo is returning to Sacramento this Sept. 22-24, for the first in-person Cal Cities event since the beginning of the pandemic.

Last year’s virtual Annual Conference and Expo convened more than 1,600 California city officials for an incredible three days of learning, inspiring, sharing, and celebrating the achievements of cities throughout the state. The event featured 127 speakers, including powerhouse keynote addresses from award-winning journalist Soledad O’Brien, best-selling author and award-winning podcaster Neil Pasricha, and the National League of Cities’ Leon Andrews with a panel of city leaders on advancing equity in their communities.

After 18 months of virtual learning and connecting, we are eager to see you face-to-face. The programming for this year’s annual conference will feature a variety of exciting presentations on pressing topics for local leaders, plus numerous networking opportunities. Last year’s conference covered issues like virtual emergency operations centers, ransomware, rising pension costs, and climate change.

In addition, the always popular Expo floor will be back this year, filled with new and familiar faces, and chockful of opportunities to engage with companies and organizations that provide services to cities. Keep a eye out in the Cal Cities Advocate in the coming weeks and months as we unveil the exciting programming.

As we all know too well, the pandemic is not over. And, after a year of working from home, people have different comfort levels with in-person events. Our number one priority will continue to be the health and safety of participants. We are working closely with the Convention Center to ensure that important protocols and cleaning procedures continue, and if necessary, are strengthened. Attendees can anticipate updates as the conference approaches.

Look out for registration information in June. For now, mark your calendars for Sept. 22-24 at the newly renovated SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento.
