What to expect at the Planning Commissioners Academy

Sessions delve into critical training on important topics taught by peers and subject matter experts on topics such as:

  • Findings and conditions of approval
  • Conducting an effective and respectful planning meeting
  • Legislative updates important to planning commissioners
  • Relationship between planning commission, city council, and planning staff

The academy runs 8:15 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 25; 8:15 a.m.-12 p.m. on Friday, March 26; 8:15 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31; and 8:15 a.m.-12 p.m. on Thursday, April 1. View the most up-to-date conference schedule.

The conference will take place via Zoom. A computer or laptop is recommended to best experience the sessions. A login and password will be provided to access the conference page the week of the conference and this is where links to all the sessions will be located.
